citymission 'homeless,not helpless'
the world is suddenly coloured
in multi-coloured hues
when you take the
time to ponder
in someone else's shoes
the sadness of dying children
from cancer, aids or ash
the corruption of the underworld
from politics to death
the descending hope of poverty
or misunderstood homeless people
who ran away from a dishevelled
life to the streets of sick nights
and drugs to hide the pain
of hunger, madness and strife
vile black hearts in the piercing cold lurk
to consume their innocence
they live with no hope of one day..
divorcing love
lead seperate lives
an abusive dad or mom
alcholic addiction
penetrating lies
asleep with lonely shadows
night after night
angry plots
of vomit-stenched minds
prostitution because there is no other way
its chaos everyday
the gloom and bitterness
wont go away
even though they turn
to God and pray.
when the rain pours down
it resounds with their beatings of sorrow,
darkness
and fears
and all their might
they have been stripped off
no hope but death in mind
but for us
who are living abundantly
with rich blessings and security
our bodies are healthy
and kicking well
we have woes
but not as grave
there is still something that we can do
to make a difference for these others.
the mission can come in many ways
even from a bed room prayer, or a 5cents change today
so let us get involved
and do the little that we can.
together we can brighten their lives
if only for a while
but how far and how long that while can go
if we all chip in just a bit.
/dont u think? ")
'I ask to share your sunshine with
not look down on me,
i do not want your sympathy but just someone to know
im here. existing and still breathing.'
